Mrs. Dorothy Andreoli Keech Leggett, age 81, a resident of 1256 Deer Tract Drive, Washington, died Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A memorial service will be held later after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Mrs. Dorothy was born in Beaufort County on April 17, 1939, daughter of the late Alphonso Joseph Andreoli and the late Hazel Arabella Latham Andreoli. She was a 1957 graduate of Pantego High School. On Aug. 15, 1959, she married Whitford Steward Keech Jr. who preceded her in death on July 5, 1982. On Jan. 1, 1983, she married Alford Uriah Leggett, who also preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 1990. She retired from Beaufort County Health Department as a Case Administrator in the WIC Program. Mrs. Dot grew up in Free Union Free Will Baptist Church of Pinetown and could not bring herself to cut that tie and move her membership elsewhere. She loved gardening, crafts and most importantly raising her children.

Survivors include her children: Joey Keech and Whitford “Peanut” Keech (Tammy), all of Washington, Gina Keech Brown (Ted), of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Rodney Lee Keech, of Washington, and David Clark Keech (Katherine), of Martinez, Georgia; grandchildren, Joseph Christopher “J.C.” Keech Jr., Stewart Reid Keech, David Allen Keech, Amanda Jones, Haley Payne, Whitney Wilson, Joshua Lee Keech, Emily Keech Woolard, Erica Hudson and Cameron Keech; great-grandchildren, William Reid Keech, Grace Elizabeth Jones, Kylie Turnage, Greyson Payne, Aiden Uebler, Brayden Williams, Wyatt Louis Woolard, Charles Louis Woolard, Christopher Allen Warren and Brody Clark Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dot was predeceased, along with her parents and two husbands, by a brother, Donald Latham Andreoli, and a sister, Margaret A. Hardison.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the Beaufort County Humane Society, P.O. Box 33, Washington, NC 27889.
