Mrs. Candace Elizabeth Batten Holliday, age 68, a resident of 87 Water St., Aurora, died Monday, May 4, 2020, at her home.

A Celebration of her Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2020, at her home, which is probably 2 miles past the ferry in the Aurora Beach community.

Mrs. Holliday was born in Wilson County on Oct. 21, 1951. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Elmon Batten and Elizabeth Gower Batten. Mrs. Holliday was the retired director of the Aurora Fossil Museum. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. Mrs. Holliday loved being outdoors, especially when fishing or fossiling. She was a lifetime member of Aurora EMS and participated in almost every Fire or EMS function they sponsored. Mrs. Holliday had the ability to make or create almost anything she set her mind to. She also had tremendous faith in the Lord.

Mrs. Holliday was married to J. Garland Holliday, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children, Joseph R. Wilder (Lisa), Bridgett W. Bonner (Kevin), David B. Wilder (Shannon), Christopher B. Holliday (Melissa), Kimberly H. Turner (Chris); 13 grandchildren, Jay, Ethan, Hunter, Matthew, Ashton, Krissah-Lee, Madelaine, Nathan, Justin, Damien, Courtney, Emma-Grace, Ava; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Addisyn, Tinsley, Braxton and Bailey.
