Mr. Johnny Walton Corey, Jr., age 68, a resident of Washington, died Sunday, May 24, 2020, at River Trace Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Mr. Corey was born in Beaufort County on Oct. 11, 1951, to the late Johnny Walton Corey Sr. and Liddie Cleo Roberson Corey. He worked as a pressman for the Washington Daily News for 33 years until his retirement. Mr. Corey was a hardworking man who loved to fish. He was also a former member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his two sons, Johnny W. Corey III and wife Tamara, of Washington, Justin M. Corey and wife Victoria, of Jamesville; five grandchildren, Zachary Mull, Kimberly Dunlow and husband Brandon, Sarah Taffer and husband Hunter, Breanna Mull, Hannah Corey; six great-grandchildren, Jeremy Dunlow, Andrew Dunlow, Christopher Taffer, Lucas Dunlow, Madalynn Taffer, Skylynn Outlaw; and a sister, Alice Faye Rogers and husband Mitchell. of Washington.

The family will receive friends at the home, 9259 Thoroughfare Road, Washington, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2020.
