Register of Deeds report shows decline

Gene P. Boger, Tyrrell County Register of Deeds, reported to the county commissioners recently that moneys paid into her office during the fiscal year that ended June 30 amounted to $62,660, down from $86,487 the previous year.
Her total deposits in 2017-18 were $34,820.
Boger stated there were 173 transfers during the most recent year versus 204 in 2018-19 and 146 the year before that.
Revenue stamps on deeds amounted to $43,078 last fiscal year, $67,019 in 2018-19, and $16,429 the year before that.
There was very little deviation each year in the total number of documents recorded: 525 in 2019-20, 541 in 2018-19, and 516 in 2017-18.

Child Abuse Fund $90; Domestic Violence Fund $540; State Revenue Stamp $21,108; County Revenue Stamp $21,108; Supplemental Retirement $289; Register of Deeds Automation Fund $1,632; State Treasurer $2,511; and Register of Deeds General Fund $14,519.
