Betty Williams Everett, 75, of Swan Quarter, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born in Hyde County on Oct.10, 1944, to the late Liston Jr. and Zona Bell Harris. She was married first to Richard Williams and later to Dan Everett, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Swan Quarter Christian Church. She retired from Head Start where she worked as a teacher’s assistant. Betty was also the owner of D & B Seafood and D & B Linen Service. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and cooking for her family.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at the Swan Quarter Christian Church. Burial will follow at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Raffael Farrow Jr. and Phil Emmert will officiate.
A visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 7, 2020, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Surviving are two daughters, Charmayne and husband LB Johnson, of Swan Quarter, and Tammy Williams, of Bath; four sons, Henry and wife Marsha Williams, of Statesville, Odell and wife Viola Williams, of Swan Quarter, Richard and wife Kristi Williams, of Engelhard, and Michael and wife Kaila Williams, of Swan Quarter; 14 grandchildren, Jonathan and wife Kelsey Johnson, Brandy Johnson, Kevin Williams, Kory Williams, Daniel Williams, April and husband Jason Keech, Wayne Equils, Tyler Williams, Mary Grace Williams, Richard “Trey” and wife Macy Williams, Kimberly Williams, Michael Williams Jr., Kara Williams and Brooke Williams; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Ann Ross, and a brother, Liston III “Bud” and wife Arlene Harris, both of Swan Quarter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Swan Quarter Christian Church.
