Michelle Lynn Hopkins, age 33, a resident of Edward, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, at the home of Carol Kidney, 114 Tunstall Swamp Road, Aurora, and will be officiated by Marty Alligood.

Michelle was born in Beaufort County on Sept. 25, 1986, to Gene Hopkins and Billie Tyndall. She was employed with Piggly Wiggly in Grantsboro. Michelle loved animals and rescued many. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Grantsboro.

Survivors include her son, Jesse Tyler Speiser, of Arapahoe; her father, Gene Hopkins and wife Kay, of Edward; her mother, Billie Tyndall and husband Noah, of Edward; her brother, Robbie Hopkins, of Edward; maternal grandparents, Bill and Gladys Spivey, of Blounts Creek; paternal grandparents, Carol Kidney, of Aurora, Kenneth and Jan Smithwick, of Scottsdale, Arizona; and her grand pap, Sam Newman, of Grantsboro.
