Mr. George Robert “Bob” Parker, age 82, a resident of High Point, died Saturday, July 4, 2020, at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Rev. Allen Van Meter. Wearing of masks and social distancing is recommended.

Mr. Parker was born in Aberdeen, North Carolina, on June 9, 1938. He was the son of the late Jack Carraway Parker and Etheleen Lamm Parker. Mr. Parker served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 43 years as a Flexographic printer. In his spare time, Mr. Parker enjoyed gardening, building bird house and green houses.

Mr. Parker was married to the former Josephine Griffin, who survives.

Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Lisa Parker Sexton and husband Robert Leon Sexton, of Archdale; six sisters, Geraldine “Jerrie” Bolafka, of Washington, Norma Parker Morgan, of Ohio, Linda Parker Daughney, of Newton, Massachusetts, Sue Parker McPhee, of Ohio, Shirley Parker Hawkes, of Havelock, Debra “Debbie” Parker Morrisey, of western Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Parker, and a sister, Betty Hagan.
