The Washington Noon Rotary Club welcomed city of Washington Fire Chief Mark Yates as guest speaker during its weekly virtual meeting. Yates updated the club about how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the fire department’s services. According to Yates, a fellow Rotarian, Covid-19 mitigation along with social distancing has increased staff stress levels. In addition, Yates told the club the expense of personal protection equipment continues to increase as fire departments across the country are forced to purchase PPE in greater amounts with shorter expiration dates. Every Monday at noon, the Washington Noon Rotary Club hosts compelling guest speakers.
