Barbara Allen Winfield, age 89, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020. Born in Florence, SC on November 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Vernon Harold Allen and Thelma Ward Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Bernard Winfield.

Barbara was a Congressional Secretary for Congressman John McMillan for many years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Washington. In later years, she attended Church of the Good Shepherd.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Emily Winfield Bondy and husband, Dr. Paul Bondy; Catherine Winfield Pfeiffer and husband, Richard Pfeiffer; her grandchildren, Anna Catherine Pfeiffer, Richard Charles Pfeiffer, III and wife, Rachel, Emily Winfield Pfeiffer, Catherine Courtney Bondy, and Emily Malone Bondy.

A Burial of Cremains will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Cemetery in Chocowinity, NC.

Because of COVID-19, the family requests that everyone respect their wishes and wear masks and practice social distancing.
