Mrs. Alma Jeanette Singleton Johnson, age 87, a native of Beaufort County, died Friday, January 1, 2021 at Chesapeake Health and Rehab Center in Chesapeake, Va.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Gurkin Family Cemetery, Baseline Road, Pinetown.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Beaufort County on September 6, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Singleton and Oliva Gurkin Singleton.  Mrs. Johnson was a retired secretary.

Mrs. Johnson was married to Edgar Moye Johnson, who preceded her in death, June 26, 1971. She is survived by her son, Russell Moye Johnson of Chesapeake, Va. and great grandsons, Gabriele and Caleb Johnson. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Wayne Johnson and grandson, Russell Adam Johnson.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
