Beaufort County records 84th COVID-19 death

Beaufort County recorded its 84th COVID-19-related death Monday. The county also logged eight new confirmed cases of COVID-19, raising the total amount of cases to 4,319.

With the addition of five new recoveries in Monday’s report from the Beaufort County Health Department and Beaufort County Office of Emergency Services, 4,162 county residents have recovered from COVID-19.

Health officials know of 73 active cases among Beaufort County residents. Five of those individuals are hospitalized.

To date, 39,318 COVID-19 tests have been conducted on Beaufort County residents, and 4,319 individuals have tested positive. The COVID-19 death rate in Beaufort County is 1.9%.

Eastern N.C. counties with total confirmed cases include: Beaufort (4,319), Bertie (1,684),  Bladen (3,038), Brunswick (8,296), Camden (607), Carteret (4,574), Chowan (1,390), Columbus (6,009), Craven (8,590), Currituck (1,421), Dare (1,902), Duplin (5,852), Edgecombe (4,809), Gates (691), Greene (2,153), Halifax (5,069), Hertford (1,974),  Hyde (629), Jones (753), Lenoir (5,553), Martin (2,107), New Hanover (16,802), Northampton (1,753), Onslow (15,041), Pamlico (991), Pasquotank (3,130), Pender  (4,879), Perquimans (936), Pitt (17,883) Sampson (7,098), Tyrrell (305) Washington (1,005), Wayne (10,414) and Wilson (8,710). Mecklenburg (99,328), Wake (77,171), Guilford (41,168) counties have the most cases.
