Randy Martin Howard, 65, a resident of Chocowinity (previously from Wilson, NC), died suddenly Thursday, March 18, 2021, at his favorite place, home.
A visitation was held from 6 pm – 8 pm Monday, March 22, 2021, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory. When the weather warms up, a celebration of his life will be held at his home on the river, his favorite place to be.
Randy was an electrical contractor for over 30 years from eastern North Carolina. He worked all over the United States and was currently the supervisor for the electrical department at East Carolina University.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Howard, of Washington, his wife of 31 years, Mitzie, his daughter Stephanie Sumner, and her husband Casey Sumner, and his grandchildren Saylor and Keagan of Carolina Beach, and his special daughter Lacy Galloway of the home, sister, Georgia Howard of Atlantic Beach, brothers Allen Howard and his wife Susie of Elm City, Jerry Howard and his wife, Susan of Texas, several nieces and nephews and his special friends and travel partners, Debbie and Jerry Raper of Wilson, NC.
Randy had an infectious smile and personality. He adored his pets, SK and Tucker, often taking Tucker on golf cart rides through the neighborhood. Randy was an outstanding grill master and loved to cook for his family and friends. He was also a proud supporter of the ECU Pirates. Randy had a heart of gold, and anyone who knew him knows he was one of the most generous people in the world. His friends and family will dearly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Nixon Howard, Jr.
