The Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department will host a fried oyster fundraiser on April 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The meal available will include fried oysters, french fries, cole slaw, hush puppies, dessert and iced tea. An adult plate will be available for $10 and a children’s plate will be $5. The event will be held at the Swan Quarter VFD station, located at 25 Oyster Creek Road in Swan Quarter.
Limited seating will be available at the fire station during the event and take-out plates are an option.
“Most of you know that we depend on fundraisers and donations from the community to help us pay our monthly operating expenses. Due to COVID-19, this year has been a difficult one for us. We have missed three monthly lunch/dinner fundraisers and the response to our annual letter campaign is down,” the station said in a post on Facebook.
For those who cannot attend the event, donations are accepted through the station’s website, swanquarterwfd.org. Funds raised from this event will be put towards the station’s expenses.
