From the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary – Diversity & Inclusion

The U.S. Coast Guard Diversity and Inclusion Directorate will host a special meeting featuring guest speaker Al Powell.

Powell is an auxiliary member of Flotilla 20-06 in Washington and is the founder and president of the Inner Banks STEM Center located at the Washington Warren Airport. He is also a SO-DV in 5th Southern.

Based on the experiences gained from a career spanning three decades as a pilot and Supervisory Special Agent who investigated civil rights allegations with the F.B.I., Mr. Powell knows too well the issues we all face. This will be a tremendous opportunity to understand diversity and inclusion for a total workforce, and the development of a most valued community outreach opportunity.

The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniform civilian component of the U.S. Coast Guard and supports the Coast Guard in nearly all mission areas. The Auxiliary was created by Congress in 1939. For more information, please visit www.cgaux.org.
