Jackson Levi Griffin, age 16, a resident of 641 Wharton Station Rd., Washington, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Linda Moore and Debra Stilley.
The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the homes of his parents.
Jackson was born in Beaufort County on November 26, 2004, son of Robert Taylor Griffin, Jr. and Amanda Benson Heck. He was a student/athlete at Washington High School, where he was a member of the football team and the track team. Jackson enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his father: Robert Taylor Griffin, Jr. and partner Jennifer Hudson of Washington; his mother: Amanda Benson Heck and husband Alex Heck of Washington; his sister: Sophie Heck; his brother: Gage Heck all of Washington; his maternal grandparents; Bennie Benson and wife Angie of Greenville and Sandra Heck of Winterville. Jackson is also survived by his aunts: Bobbie Jo Taylor of Ellenboro, NC and Heather Benson and husband Cody Suggs of Winterville; his uncles: Clark Harrell of Charlotte and Bryan Harrell and wife Stephanie of Kinston and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers: Pattie Griffin and Jakie Jones and his paternal grandfather: Robert Taylor Griffin, Sr.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Washington Athletic Club, C/O Fred Watkins, 306 Sunnyside Dr., Washington, NC 27889.
