Jesse Tyson, 87, of Washington, NC, passed away peacefully September 8th, 2021.
Born in Blackjack, Pitt County, NC, Jesse retired as a Master Carpenter. He received numerous awards for his craftsmanship over 50 years in his career. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, and he will be missed by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife Donna Tyson, and six children: Glynn Tyson (Debbie) of Wilson, NC; Wanda Bruce (David) of Virginia Beach, VA; Cathy Snow of Virginia Beach, VA; Debra Inman (Wayne) of Virginia Beach, VA; Sandra Hargroves (Lex) of Virginia Beach, VA; and Jesse “Troy” Tyson (Sherry) of Washington, NC. He is also survived by four stepchildren: stepsons Jimmy, Randy and Bobby Riefer (wife Debbie) and stepdaughter Janet Noe; 23 grandchildren, and 19 (soon to be 20) great-grandchildren. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Bessie Tyson, brothers Junior, Bernice, and Jimmy, sister Ann Tyson Coward Woodard, and granddaughter Shonda K. Weems.
A celebration of life will be held on October 23rd, 2021, at 109 Pine Tree Drive, Washington, NC, 37889. Condolences may be shared online through Cremation and Funeral Services of Tidewater.
