Mrs. Reba Owens Whitley, age 91, a resident of Canal Lane, Washington, died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at her home.
A graveside service was held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Tony Krantz.
Mrs. Whitley was born in Wilson County on December 18, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Henry Malcolm Owens and Etta Boykin Owens. Mrs. Whitley was a retired legal secretary with the law offices of Leroy Scott and Steven Graves. She was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ. For over 50 years, Mrs. Whitley and her husband, Robert were members of the Gideons and delivered Meals on Wheels.
On August 10, 1952, she married Robert Wilbur Whitley, Jr., who preceded her in death, December 13, 2018.
Mrs. Whitley is survived by her son, Robert Wilbur Whitley III and his wife, Grace of Washington; and three grandsons, Robert Wilbur Whitley IV, Lewis David Whitley, and John Elliott Whitley.
The family received friends at the home of her son and daughter in law, Bobby and Grace Whitley, 48 Duckview Trail, Washington.
