Mr. Jimmy Douglas “Jay” Brinn, Jr., age 51, a resident of Belhaven, N.C. died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A graveside service was held 2:00 PM Monday, October 11, 2021 at Sidney Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. David Pooser.
Mr. Brinn was born in Beaufort County on May 31, 1970. He was the son of Jimmy Douglas Brinn, Sr. and Kathryn Hoff Brinn. Mr. Brinn was sales manager for Roxell. Mr. Brinn was a member of the Belhaven Masonic Lodge. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, entertaining and hanging out with his friends.
Mr. Brinn is survived by two sons, Brantley Douglas Brinn and Collin DeWayne Brinn both of Washington; his parents, Jimmy Douglas Brinn, Sr. and Kathryn Hoff Brinn both of Belhaven; brother, John Brinn and wife, Kathy Mercer Brinn both of Belhaven; and two nieces, Aleah Brinn and Elyse Brinn.
Jay found the love of his life, Reatta Wright Black. She was a grade school sweetheart and best friend his entire life. They reconnected a few years ago and found that their bond and connection was still as strong today as it was when they were just kids in grade school. He loved her with all his heart and soul. He is survived by the other half that made him whole.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Masonic Home of Children at Oxford, 600 College Street, Oxford, N.C. 27565.
