All three Beaufort County teams won road games Friday night, Northside and Southside by rout, while Washington had to work to subdue North Pitt to claim second place in the Eastern Plains Conference. Here are the top performances.

  1. Terry Moore-the Washington senior tailback ran for 125 yards on fourteen carries and scored touchdowns on runs of 11, six and 35 yards, then caught a 46-yard pass from Hayes Pippin for another score in the Pam Pack’s 37-22 victory. It was the fourth straight win for WHS.

  1. Gabe Davis-The freshman linebacker began the season on the Washington JV, but was pressed into varsity service early because of injuries. He played his best game against North Pitt, recording 11 solo and 23 total tackles in the Pam Pack victory.

  1. Mitch Godley-The Northside senior fullback has been a mainstay on this list every week with his consistent production on both sides of the ball. He ran for 113 yards on 12 carries and scored twice in the Panthers 47-0 rout of Jones Central. He also contributed 10 tackles from his linebacker spot.

Best of the Rest: Southside routed Lejeune, 56-0, and 11 different players carried the ball for 321 yards and 382 of total offense. Keywon Campbell (58), Tequan Moore (56) and Kenjray Coffield (54) combined for 168 and three rushing touchdowns. Moore also caught a scoring pass from Walker Hill and returned a kick for a score. Hill finished 10-13 for 61 yards.

The Seahawks defense held Lejeune to just eight rushing yards and 76 total. Coffield had three tackles for loss, D.J. Joyner recovered a fumble, Nolan Dixon intercepted a pass while Manvonte DeLoach and Brandon Clark deflected two passes.

Northside: Marcus Clayton carried eight times for 89 yards and two touchdowns, Fortino Beltran had a 50-yard scoring run, Elijah Holloway caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Keifer Boyd and Chase Tomaini booted a 35-yard field goal. Carson Clinkscales intercepted a pass; Chris Slade recovered a fumble and Briley Cooper recorded a sack in the endzone for a safety.

Washington: Quarterback Hayes Pippin was 4-6 for 82 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 60 yards and forced a fumble on defense. Ryan Spruil had an interception and Jonathan Richardson had seven tackles, three for loss.

It’s Senior Night for all three programs Friday as Washington hosts SouthWest Edgecombe, Northside entertains Lejeune and Southside takes on East Carteret.
