Washington High School will send two tennis players to the 2A state tournament in Holly Springs.

Senior Olivia Paszt and junior Katherine Pollock teamed up to defeat opponents from Edenton, 6-1, 6-2 and North Johnston, 6-1, 6-1 at the East regional at Greene Central HS in Snow Hill. The pair will play again Saturday to determine state tournament seeding.

Abby Lewis and Ana Roberson also competed in doubles and Laci Campbell played singles, but did not advance.
