The Cypress Landing Community recently held their 12th annual Military Appreciation Day to honor service men and women from local bases and stations.
According to Major General, United States Marine Corps (Retired) Gordon Nash, “this year there were over 90 active-duty servicemen and women who enjoyed a full day of golf, drinks, food, and
camaraderie. In addition to hosting the magnificent participants and honoring their service and sacrifice, contributions were made to the Fisher House at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune and to our Pamlico Rose Institute.”
Nash, along with co-chair Richard Beach, retired Senior Chief, United States Navy, visited Rose Haven recently to present Pamlico Rose CEO Robert Greene Sands with a check for $3000. Sands, and a cadre of volunteers working on the renovation that day, gratefully accepted the donation.
“Everybody associated with Pamlico Rose and Rose Haven is thrilled with the financial support of the Tournament and their desire to assist at-risk Veterans in our local and extended community,” said Sands.
