Ruby Carol Paul Moore, age 85, a resident of Washington, NC died Sunday January 16, 2022 at her

home.

The family will receive friends from 4:00PM until 6:00PM Thursday January 20, 2022 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

Mrs. Moore was born in Beaufort County on January 8, 1937 to the late Haywood Thomas Paul and

Mary Waters Paul.  She was a 1955 graduate of Bath High School.  She attended Beaufort County

Community College to become an LPN.  She worked at Beaufort County Hospital and Cabarrus County

Hospital.  She spent 17 years as an OB/GYN nurse with Dr.’s Jones, Tayloe, and Brantley and Washington

Women’s Care until her retirement in 1994.   She was a member of First Christian Church in Washington, the Christian Women’s Fellowship, Disciples Sunday School Class and would teach class often.  Mrs. Moore enjoyed participating in many Bible Study Classes throughout the years.  She enjoyed life and was a friend to many.  Mrs. Moore loved the beach, traveling, reading, puzzles, and movies.

Survivors include her three sons, Michael H. Boyd and wife Debbie of Washington, Bryan M. Moore, of

Sneads Ferry, Mark E. Moore and wife Michelle of Raleigh, six grandchildren, one great grandchild,

one sister, Alice Paul Johnson and husband Jack of Youngsville, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ellen Boyd and a brother, Thomas Paul.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her caregiver, Rhonda Miller, and the nurses

and staff of Community Home Care and Hospice, especially Victoria Hamilton Bell and Tina Ayers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First Christian Church (307 E. 3rd St, Washington NC 27889) or Community Home Care and Hospice (222 Stewart Drive, Unit 100, Washington NC 27889).
