Crystal Gayle Holman, 47, of Washington, NC passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022, in Lewiston, Maine after a brief illness. She was born on December 21, 1974, in Washington, NC to Joseph S. Holman, Sr. and Falby Jo (Kirkley) Holman. She grew up in Washington, NC and graduated from Washington High School in 1993. Crystal was a member of the WHS marching band playing saxophone, flute, drums, and keyboards. After high school she attended Beaufort County Community College for Liberal Arts. Crystal later attended Miller Motte College in Greenville, NC where she received a certificate in Medical Billing and Coding in 2017. She fulfilled a dream while working at The Historic Turnage Theatre from 2016 – 2020. Her love of the Turnage began when she volunteered during the original restoration. She was a founding member of the Beaufort County Community College Drama Club and a past board member of the Washington Community Theatre Association. She enjoyed all aspects of theater from writing, acting, and directing. She also enjoyed reading, music, art, dancing, writing, deejaying, and working with children. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Falby Jo “Falby Sue” and Joseph S. “Joe” Holman, Brother, Joseph S. “Joey” Holman, Jr. Crystal is survived by her Fiancé Chris Stanhope of Lewiston, Maine; Sister Brenda Faye Adams (Johnnie Adams, S r. ) of Chocowinity, NC; Sister Theresa Holman Hackney
(Ken Hackney) of Havelock, NC; Brother Johnnie E. Adams, Jr. of Washington; Sister Brandy R. Adams of Belvoir, NC; Nephew Austin C. Adams of Washington, NC; and Niece Layla Adams of Greenville, NC.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Crystal at the Arts of the Pamlico at the Historic Turnage Theatre on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Arts of the Pamlico, The Historic Turnage Theatre, PO Box 634, Washington, NC, 27889.
