Lacy R. Boyd, Jr.

Mr. Lacy R. Boyd, Jr., age 77, a resident of 1115 North Market Street, Washington, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 AM Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Dr. Greg Barmer.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Tripp Dixon, Major Smith, Selby Daw, Louis Woolard, Marshall Lilley, and Jimmy Woolard.
Mr. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on June 28, 1944. He was the son of the late Lacy R. Boyd, Sr., and Lena Lilley Boyd. Mr. Boyd served in the U.S. Army reserves for six years. He retired from Weyerhaeuser as a line manager. Mr. Boyd was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He, along with his wife, Nancy, were instrumental in starting The Blind Center in Washington.
Mr. Boyd was married to the former Nancy Stocks, who survives.
Surviving with his wife, Nancy are his step children, Ken Curtis (Julia), and Kendra Lobos (Dr. Michael Lobos); step grandchildren, Lilly Frances Lobos, Campbell Curtis, Keenan Curtis; sister, Valerie Boyd Dixon (fiancé Major Smith); niece, Lacey Boyd; nephew, Tripp Dixon; maternal aunts, Minnie Burford, Margaret Manning; sister in laws, Barbara Stocks, Louise Boyd; and brother in law, Jerry Stocks (Gay).
In addition to his parents, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Boyd and Durwood Boyd.
The family will receive friends for 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the home, 1115 North Market Street, Washington.
