Mrs. Mary Louise “Polly” Gray Woolard, age 87, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday May 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
Services will be private.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on February 12, 1935 to the late Roy Lee Gray and Alice Ruth Godley. On June 20, 1953 she married the love of her life, Edwin Earl Woolard who preceded her in death on June 5, 2012. She was a member of Alligood Church of God. Mrs. Woolard enjoyed being around her family, flowers, and cooking.
Survivors include her two daughters, Cindy Woolard Tipton and husband Bill of Washington, Amanda Woolard Haymore and husband Tony of Washington, three grandchildren, Caleb Scott Alligood, Tanner Earl Alligood, Madison Gray Cooper and husband Jeremy, one great grandchild, Ryder Brooks Cooper, a sister, Jane Burn and husband John of Shelby, NC, and a niece Patty Elaine Hudson of Vanceboro.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Nathan Gray, Roy Warren Gray, and two sisters, Lucille McNeill and Nell “Pauline” Hudson.
