Mr. Marvin McKinley “Doodle” Waters, age 73, resident of Pinetown, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday May 27, 2022, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Marty Alligood. Burial will follow in the Waters Family Cemetery, Long Ridge Road, Pinetown.

The following will serve as pallbearers:  Cory Gibbs, Daniel Chrismon, Roy Chrismon, Al Haddock, Harris White, and Tony Waters.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.

Mr. Waters was born in Washington, N.C. on July 31, 1948. He was the son of Margaret Stubbs. Mr. Waters served in the United States Army where he met and married his wife, Mary on January 3, 1969. In addition to serving our country, Mr. Waters worked for Weyerhaeuser. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and spend time outdoors, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Waters is survived by his wife Mary, of the home; his children, Amy Chrismon (Brian) of Pinetown and Carl Waters of Pinetown; his grandchildren: Katie Waters Black, Hunter Chrismon, and Austin Chrismon; his mother, Margaret Stubbs of Pinetown: his sister in laws, Nancy Varsho (Paul) and Sandra Bonk (Bob) both of Wisconsin, Cassandra Elliott (George) of Bath, Darlene Waters of Pinetown and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marvin is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Thomas Waters and Edward Lee Waters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pinetown Fire Department, 7262 North Boyd Road, Pinetown, N.C. 27865.
