Washington Police Officers & Sheriff’s Office Deputies went head- to- head in a charity softball game as part of their Inaugural Battle of the Badges event hosted by Community Hospice of Washington.
These groups came together to give back to the community. Collectively, they chose to give all proceeds to Bright Futures of Beaufort County.
This years’ inaugural event raised $2500 through admissions, raffle tickets & concessions, held at the Susiegray McConnell Sports Complex.
Mayor Donald Sadler gave the Welcome; City Council Member Richard Brooks gave the Invocation & County Commissioner Ed Booth threw out the first pitch.
WHS JROTC presented the Colors during the National Anthem, sung by Morgan Hudson-Vickers of Community Hospice.
It was a well-attended family event in the City of Washington for a great cause. Stay tuned for another game next year.
