Golf Results
The Washington Yacht and Country Club kicked off the couples golf season Saturday with a four person scramble.
First place went to the team of Susan & Gray Hodges along with Ginger & Frank Longino. They shot 66.
Liz and Taylor Dyer along with Lourdes White and Charlie Rasmussen took second place with a 69.
WHS hosts wrestling camp
Aspiring area wrestlers will have the opportunity to learn the basics from a former NCAA champion Saturday at Washington High School.
Area resident and 2000 NCAA champ Carl Perry will put on a clinic Saturday, July 16 in the Washington High School gym. Session one is from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., with the second session from 1-3 p.m. Lunch will be provided from 12-1 p.m.
The cost is $40 and all participants must have a USA wrestling card.
Perry, a Norfolk Va. area native won the 2000 title at 141 pounds while at the University of Illinois.

Area youth football registration closes soon
The Washington Youth Football League registration period ends Saturday. Signup is online only and will be accepted until July 16. There will be limited spots in each age group.
The 6u flag football season runs Aug. 1 to Nov. 19 with a $60 signup fee.
The 8u, 10 u and 12u tackle season starts July 25 and ends Nov. 19 with a $100 registration fee.
