Dewey Wayne Woolard, age 71, of Washington, NC, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at his home.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Woolard Family Cemetery, 634 Mill Hole Road, Washington, NC, and will be conducted by Marty Alligood and Tim Stamper. The family will receive friends following the service.

Dewey Wayne was born in Washington, NC, on February 21, 1951, to the late Dewey B. Woolard and Monnie Gray Alligood Woolard. On June 22, 1973, he married Helen LaRue Hill who survives. Dewey worked in electrical maintenance. He served on the Board of Directors of Eastern Carolina Men’s Fellowship and Roanoke Christian Service Camp. He was a member of Rosemary Church of Christ, where he served as an Elder.

Surviving with his wife LaRue, are two sons, Dewayne and wife, Tomora of Greenville, NC, and Daryl and wife, Miranda of Woodburn, IN.; four grandchildren, Ty, Madison, Duron and Weston; three sisters, Jannie Webster and husband Tommy, O’Lain Smith and husband Randy, Gretta Leggett and husband Terry.

Dewey is preceded in death by a sister, Eursil Jones and her husband Billy.
