The Washington Noon Rotary Club’s August 22nd meeting featured guest speaker Gail Baird who shared information about the Arts of the Pamlico’s upcoming strategic plan.

Ms. Baird, a fellow Noon Rotarian and AOP Board Chair, said the AOP is currently soliciting public input so the non-profit organization can formulate a new strategic plan which best serves the entire community with respect to diversity and inclusion.

According to Ms. Baird, the mission of the Arts of the Pamlico (AOP) is to present a wide range of educational, entertainment and cultural programs to support local artists, arts organizations and arts business throughout the region. More information is available at www.artsofthepamlico.org. Meanwhile, the club continues to finalize plans for the upcoming 24th annual Smoke on the Water Whole Hog Barbecue competition presented by Smithfield Foods. The Oct. 21-22 event includes a classic car show, a 5k Fun Run, a variety of kids events, live music, whole hog smoked pork barbecue servings and a home-made chili contest sponsored by United Bank.
