The Beaufort County animal shelter is open Mondays through Fridays, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, the shelter will be closed unless an appointment is made before 5:00 p.m. Friday. Animal control officers are at the shelter by 8 a.m. daily. Shelter employees will not answer the phone in the morning due to all staff being hands-on with morning operations. The shelter strongly recommends leaving a voicemail with contact information and will get back to callers as soon as possible. In the case of an emergency, contact the Beaufort County Sheriff’s to reach the Animal Control officer on call. The shelter is located at 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East in Washington.
The shelter will be closed to the public for cleaning on the first Wednesday of every month. Please visit https://www.petango.com/beaufortcountync to view all pets currently available for adoption. Dog, Old Man, ID No. 0200
Described as a friendly and goofy guy, this 4 year old, Hound-mix loves to follow his nose, wherever it goes! Old Man is people friendly and he’s believed to be dog friendly, too. He will do best when given love, attention, exercise and play – preferably in a fenced yard and inclusion in activities. Handsome, Old Man, ID No. 0200, would love a forever home to call his own. Come meet him, he is at the shelter.
Cat, Dani 0173
She’s already spayed and good to go with a reduced rate! Dani is such a love bug however, she would prefer to be the only kitty in the house. At 4 years-10 months old, she’s a beautiful, American Shorthair with an amazing display of gray, black, tan and cream tabby stripes. With her affectionate personality, Dani, ID No. 0173, will make a welcome addition to a good forever home. She’s waiting for you at the Shelter.
