Mr. Bobby Glynn Bright, Sr., age 84, a resident of Washington died Monday June 26, 2023, with his loving family by his side.

A visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.  A private memorial service was held later for the family.

Mr. Bright was born in Beaufort County on April 25, 1939, son of the late William Churchill “Boot” Bright and the late Annie Maude Ball Bright.  He was a 1959 graduate of Chocowinity High School.  Following high school, he served his country in the NC National Guard.  On September 10, 1961, he married the love of his life, the former Marie Hill.  Mr. Bright retired as a machine operator at DuPont of Kinston.  He was a true outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and golf.  Also, he loved the art of woodworking and got satisfaction from seeing things he created himself.

Surviving along with his wife, Marie, of the home are his children: Jennie B. Singleton and her husband Jim of Washington, Glynn Bright of Washington; a sister: Jean Carrow and her husband Rayvon of Chocowinity; grandchildren: Katelyn Gaskins and her husband Josh of Washington, Dylan Singleton of Winston Salem, and Shanna Steinert and her husband Nick of Simpson; and great grandchildren: Sawyer and Liam Steinert of Simpson. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Ray and J.R. Bright and a sister: Lillie Mae McVicker.
