At approximately 5:00 pm on this date (July 15, 2023) officers with the Washington Police Department and Washington Fire Rescue were dispatched to 720 N. Market Street in reference to a reported shooting with a victim.  Upon arrival officers located a 20 year old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.  The victim was transported to ECH Health Beaufort before being transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.  There is no information on the condition of the victim at this time.  Washington Police Department encourages anyone with information about this incident to contact the police department at 252-946-1444 or Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at 252-974-6400.  As always, anyone with information can remain anonymous.
