From Beaufort County Government:

At a special called meeting this morning, The Beaufort County Commissioners adopted a resolution opposing tolls on ferry service routes. Attached is a copy of the signed resolution. The vote was 6-0 in favor of the resolution (Commissioner Rebholz was absent from this meeting due to a prior commitment).

A budget change under consideration by the North Carolina General Assembly could establish tolls for ferries that were previously exempt from the practice, including the Aurora-Bayview ferry spanning the Pamlico River in Beaufort County.
