ALERT: MANHUNT. Earlier deputies engaged in a vehicle chase with a wanted person. The chase ended in the area of US 264 and Pactolus Global School, resulting in a brief school lockdown to assure student safety. There is an ACTIVE MANHUNT involving multiple agencies and an NCSHP helicopter in that area for a wanted person, Christopher Whitaker, pictured here. Last seen wearing a blue hoodie/jacket, jeans and a hat. **He is on Federal Probation and has reportedly made statements that he will not be captured to go back to prison. **IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA PLEASE BE ON ALERT.
