Although he would be too late to attend the Super Bowl in person, Southside football coach Jeff Carrow might consider a trip to Las Vegas at the next opportunity.
Carrow, along with Pungo Christian Academy coach Alex Sefton, picked Kansas City to repeat as Super Bowl champions in the friendly contest between the county high school football coaches.
However, Carrow almost nailed the final score in picking the Chiefs to win, 27-24, while the actual final was 25-19 in overtime.
“It was a great game that lived up to the hype,” Carrow said. “I knew (Patrick) Mahomes would be the difference and he won the game with his feet in the fourth quarter. The 49ers played great and (Brock) Purdy was better than I expected, but Mahomes was just a little better.”
Carrow also came out on top in the college football national championship contest last month, picking Michigan to beat Washington, 35-21, with an actual final of 34-13.
