The third annual St. Patrick’s Day 5K and pub crawl drew record participation under perfect running conditions Saturday afternoon in downtown Washington.

219 runners and walkers completed the 3.225 mile course through downtown Washington into Washington Park and finished on Water St. in front of Mac Hodges Festival Park.

370 people participated in the full event, which included a pub crawl along Main St., allowing the Washington Rotary Club to raise a record total of over $25,000 to be donated to local organizations during the year.

12-year old Troy Wright, a member of the Terra Ceia Christian School cross country team was the overall male champion with a time of 20:33.

Washington High School cross country coach and P.S. Jones teacher Dawn Landen was the women’s overall champ in 24:11.

Other winners included female 18U C. Alligood (26:59), 19-25 Carsen Parker (26:22), 26-35 Ellen Brabo (30:30), 36-45 Lillian Moore (31:46), 46-55 Beth Grimes (25:24), 56-65 Karen Dawson (30:02) and 66+ Tanna Torcaso (40:17).

Other men’s winners included 18U Coby Alligood (21:12), 19-25 Turner Ragland (22:14), 26-35 Billy Caldwell (20:40), 36-45 Matthew Greene (24:31), 46-55 Mark Cagle (21:23), 56-65: Matthew Cicchinelli (21:52), 66+ Bennett Yu (28:04).
