Mr. Charles Ray Adams, age 48, a resident of 32 Mouth of the Creek Rd., Chocowinity, died Saturday, April 4, 2009.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and will be officiated by Tony Congleton. The Adams family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home of Fred and Ada Ercelle Adams, 78 Mouth of the Creek Rd. Chocowinity, NC 27817.
Mr. Adams was born in Cumberland County on March 7, 1961 to Fred and Ada Ball Adams who survive him. He married Audrey Marie Adams and she also survives him. He was a graduate of Chocowinity High School, was a former employee for the Dick Weeks Co., was a former deckhand and engineer in the tug boat industry and was manager of safety and environmental services for the Frit Car Company. Charles was a loving father and a caring son.
Other survivors include his son, Army Staff Sergeant, Charles Cooper Adams of Ft. Lewis, Washington; one brother, Anthony Adams and wife, Lissette of Raleigh; one niece, Rebecca Adams; two nephews, Nicholas Adams and Conner Adams, two aunts, Nellie Dean Jones and husband, Myron of Morehead City, Faye Guthrie of Morehead City and one uncle, Ray Adams of Beaufort.
Memorials may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 1732 N. Market St. Washington, NC 27889.
