Mrs. Augusta Frances Robbins Calfee, age 85, formerly a resident of 527 Water St. Belhaven, died Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Britthaven of Washington.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Friday June 26, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven and will be conducted by Rev. Sam Grist and Rev. Pat Cox. Burial will follow in Belhaven Community Cemetery. James Franklin Calfee III, Michael Worth Calfee, Stephen Russell Calfee, Brian Patrick Fleming, Jason Mitchell Gee and Leonard Joseph Tananis will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Calfee was born July 21, 1923 to the late Ottie and Helen Murrell Robbins. She was a graduate of Belhaven High School and attended East Carolina Teachers’ College. On April 10, 1941 she married James Franklin Calfee, Sr. who preceded her in death on October 2, 2003. Mrs. Calfee was co-owner of Beaufort-Hyde Motor Co. in Belhaven until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Belhaven.
Survivors include three sons: James Franklin Calfee, Jr. and wife Trina of Greenville, Robbie Calfee and wife Janice of Greenville, Michael Calfee and wife Pat of Washington. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Robin Tananis, Jay Calfee, Jennifer Calfee, Worth Calfee, Amanda Fleming, Stephen Calfee and four great grandchildren: Jameson Calfee, Isybilla Gee, Hailey Rue Calfee and Bailey Fleming. She was preceded in death by her brother, Woodrow Robbins.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Friday June 26, 2009 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven.
