The Optimist Club of Washington is offering four $1,500 scholarships to area high-school seniors.

Recipients are required to have a 2.5 or higher GPA and participated in sports either in school, municipal/county recreation leagues or through the Optimist Club. Scholarships are awarded based on an essay and a student’s participation in community-service activities.
