Carlton “C.B.” Cooper, Sr.

Mr. Carlton Beverly “C.B.” Cooper, Sr., age 80, a former resident of Lawson Road, Washington, NC, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Raleigh, NC.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Oakdale Cemetery of Washington officiated by Bob Paciocco.
C.B was born in the Pike Road community of Pantego on July 4, 1932, son of the late Clifton B. Cooper and the late Lyda Naomi Harris. He was a 1950 graduate of Pantego High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He received various awards and commendations during his military career including the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars.   C.B. married the former Nelda Grace Cullipher on December 29, 1950, who preceded him in death on December 23, 2007. He worked with Hackney & Sons of Washington serving in various positions and retired on July 1, 1997, as warranty manager. C.B. was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington.
Survivors include two sons: Carlton Beverly Cooper, Jr. of Raleigh and Gregory Marion Cooper of Washington; a brother: Talmage Cooper of Pantego; and four grandchildren.  C.B. was predeceased by a sister: Thelma Joyce Cooper and a brother: Shelton Cooper.
The family will receive friends 6 PM to 8 PM Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
