Hubert Mayo Carrow

Mr. Hubert Mayo Carrow, age 76, a resident of 1745 Possum Hill Road, Bath died Wednesday evening September 5, 2012, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, September 8, 2012, in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by the Rev. Curtis White. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Carlos Tetterton, Sr., Elmo Carawan, Christopher Carrow, Pearson Chrismon, Roland Woolard and John Tankard, Jr. will serve as pallbearers. Tomie Ivey, Leon Keech and Raymond Lewis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Carrow was born in Beaufort County on July 16, 1936, son of the late Claude McCoy Carrow and Eva Blanche Wallace Carrow. Mr. Carrow was a 1955 graduate of Bath High School. He served his country in the United States Army. On March 30, 1973, he married the former Betty Allen Buck who survives. Mr. Carrow was a farmer and worked at the PCS Lodge and Bath Historic Site. He attended Bath Christian Church and was a good caregiver to the community. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and a friend to many.
In addition to his wife, Betty of the home, he is survived by his daughter: Jennifer Elizabeth Carrow Douglas and her husband Brian of Washington; his brothers: Claude “Mac” Carrow and his wife Angie of Pinetown and Clifton “Andy” Carrow and his wife Carol of Bath; his sisters: Sallie Tetterton and her husband Jesse of Bath, Martha Andreoli of Pinetown and Debbie Harris and her husband Jimmy of Washington; one grandson: Crawford McCoy Douglas and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Earl “Frank” Carrow and sisters: Eva Carawan and Nellie Thornton.
The family will receive friends 6:30-8:30 PM on Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter Jennifer Douglas, 245 Singleton Road, Washington.
