Mr. Harold Wayne Woolard, age 62, a resident of 1645 NC 102 Hwy W., Chocowinity, NC died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Pastor Jerry Smith. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Gray Powell, Belvin Smart, Nick Shaver, Marion Johnson, Larry Haddock and Fred Matkins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Kenneth Hardy.
Mr. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on August 25, 1950, son of the late Julius “Pete” Woolard and the late Gilda Gray Lewis Woolard. He attended Pitt County and Beaufort County schools. Mr. Woolard married the former Lillian Jeanette Boyd on June 7, 1979 who survives. He was owner/operator of Woolard Trucking and was known on the CB as Cherry Picker. Mr. Woolard attended Gorham Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church of Chocowinity.
Surviving along with Mr. Woolard’s wife of the home are three daughters: Tracy Grasha and her husband David of Greenville, Samantha Toler and her husband John of Washington, Amanda Bland and her husband Thomas, Jr. of Washington and a son: Christopher Boyd of the home; two brothers: Joseph Woolard of Vanceboro and Jeffrey Woolard of Grimesland; a sister: Judy Mitchell of Chocowinity and four grandchildren: Dylan Grasha, Mathew Helton, Stacy Helton and Tony Davenport, Jr. Mr. Woolard was predeceased by two brothers: Glen Woolard and Douglas Woolard and sister: Barbara Worsley.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
