Tammy Modlin

Mrs. Tammy Jane Respass Modlin, age 51, a resident of Bath, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Bath Christian Church in Bath, conducted by Rev. Curtis White and Pastor David Linton. The family will receive friends during the day Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the home of her brother, Tommy Respass, 683 Possum Hill Road, Bath.

Mrs. Modlin was born in Belhaven on May 6, 1962. She was the daughter of Mary Burgess Respass and the late Linwood Earl Respass. Mrs. Modlin was a 1980 graduate of Bath High School. She studied Computer Programming and Welding at Beaufort County Community College. Mrs. Modlin was an assembler at Stanadyne. She was a member of Bath Christian Church.  In addition to loving animals, Mrs. Modlin loved fishing, painting, crocheting and knitting.

She was married to James Modlin, Jr. who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters, Katie Elks and husband, Jerry of Grimesland, Alex Garrett and husband, Martin Wynn of Bath; mother, Mary Burgess Respass of Bath; sister, Teresa Respass Rose and husband, Scott of Pinetown; brother, Tommy Respass and wife, Laurie of Bath.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Down East Rods and Classics, 683 Possum Hill Road, Bath, N.C.  27808.

The family would like to thank all the staff of River Trace Nursing Home and special thanks to Sherri Boyd, Amber Smith, Ann Harris, Nora Jo Woolard, I.O.M.C., her nieces, nephews and extended family for their kindness, compassion and care.
