RICH MORIN | CONTRIBUTED PAY OFF: Several years ago, Isabel Farrell (left) painted a watercolor of the barns at Douglass Crossroads that were destroyed by the tornado that swept through Beaufort County in the spring. As her way of helping tornado victims, Farrell offered reproductions of her original work in the form of note cards and full-size prints. These were sold online and at local art venues like the North Carolina Estuarium, Turnage Theater and Riverwalk Gallery and Arts Center. Farrell is pictured presenting a check for $500 to local Red Cross board member and coordinator Kay Summerfield, and board member Rich Morin (right).
