ANDREW HOLLEY

Nov. 29, 1935 – Aug. 24, 2014

 

On Sunday morning August 24, 2014 an angel was called to enter God’s heavenly church. The angels came down and ushered our beloved father, grandfather, God grandfather, brother and friend Andrew into his eternal resting place. Andrew was born on November 29, 1935 to the late John and Roberta Holley. He attended Washington schools.  He was employed at Alligood & Owens currently known as Tidewater Energy Gas Company for 56 years on and off the job.

He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive A.M.E Zion church. Andrew was also the guitarist for the choirs of Mt. Olive until his health declined. He sung with the Male Chorus and the Senior Choir and was also a Church Trustee.  Andrew was a member of “The King Cobra Riders” motorcycle club. Riding his Harley Davidson was one of his many passions, along with tending to his hogs.

Andrew was united in holy matrimony to Mary Louise Hawkins who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with one child. In January 16, 1965 he met and married Verna Ellean Mills who preceded him in death. This union was blessed with six children. To cherish his memory he leaves four daughter’s; Brenda Holley of Washington, twin daughter’s Tongia Holley of the home, Angela H . Boston ( Elder Greg Boston) of Plymouth NC, Kristen “Joy” Holley of Greenville NC, three sons, twin sons Anthony Holley (Towanda) of Chocowinity NC, Antonio Holley of Washington, and Gary “Wayne” Holley (Althia) Moncks Corner SC.

The arrangements are as follows: Friday August 29th will be the viewing at Whitfield and Whitley funeral home from 1 p.m. To 6 p.m. The funeral will be held at Metropolitan AME Zion Church in Washington North Carolina at 11 a.m. Saturday August 30th. The body will be at the church for viewing between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday August 30th.
