Candidates across the U.S. are making whirlwind tours in an effort to reach out to as many voters as possible. In North Carolina, it’s no different, but several candidates for high profile offices are making a point of putting eastern North Carolina on their tour maps.

N.C. Superior Court Judge Eric Levinson, running for Supreme Court, made a stop in Washington on Tuesday, part of a team effort to raise awareness about the four N.C. Court of Appeals and four N.C. Supreme Court races on the Nov. 4 ballot. Thursday, U.S. Senator Kay Hagan (D) will also make Washington a part of her eastern North Carolina tour with a visit to Beaufort County Democratic headquarters.

“We’re excited to have Senator Hagan visit Washington, and we’re looking forward to meeting her,” said Laurel Miller, Beaufort County Democratic Party chair.

“Kay is traveling across the state on an early vote tour to meet with voters and talk about the importance of voting early, which ends on Nov. 1. Kay will stop in several eastern North Carolina towns,” wrote Hagan’s Deputy Press Secretary Galia Slayen in an email. Slayen added that, at each stop, Hagan will speak about her record of “bipartisan, commonsense solutions fro North Carolina families and communities.”

Miller estimated that Hagan would only be at the local headquarters for about 20 minutes.

“Anyone who wants to meet her can come on down to the Democratic headquarters Thursday at 1 p.m.,” Miller said.

Beaufort County Democratic headquarters is located at 155 N. Market St., Washington.
