Anna Locke Pendleton, 88, of Scotland Neck, died Saturday, May 9, 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck. Interment will follow at the Baptist Cemetery. The Reverend Doctor James Drake and the Reverend Doctor Allen Cherry will be presiding.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.

Anna was a loving wife, mother, sister, mammie, and great-mammie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edmond Pendleton Jr.; her sisters, Margaret Phippins Parks and Marian Locke Georges; and her son-in-law, Ronnie Staton.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Polly P. Staton, of Scotland Neck, Peggy P. Black and husband Frankie, of Washington, and Nancy Ann Phippins, of Tewksbury, Mass.; her sons, George E. Pendleton III and wife Cynthia, and Larry Taylor Pendleton and wife Tommie Lou, all of Scotland Neck; her brother, Tommy Locke and wife Vivian, of Williamston; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; many loved nieces, nephews and friends; and her special caregivers, Annette Archer, Maggie Mitchell, Catherine Council, Ernestine Ware, Launice Owens and Josephine Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building and Maintenance Fund or Parking Lot Fund, P.O. Box 539, Scotland Neck, NC 27874 or to the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
