The meeting was called to order by Ruby Manning at 7:30 p.m. Members present were Karen Ball, Obed Brabble, Brandi Dixon, Jeff Edwards, Lynda Harris, Carlton Manning, Ruby Manning, Bruce Rabon, Goldie Rabon, Carolyn Tyson, Harold Tyson, Gail Vickers, Dan Wallace, Bryan Weatherington and Phyllis Weatherington, for a total of 15 members.

The song “America” was sung by the members. Invocation was by Carolyn Tyson.

We had a meal of peas and carrots, fried chicken, slaw, bread, drinks and sweets. The meal was prepared by John Nacke and Gail Vickers. The cooks for next month are Obed Brabble and Ben Davis.

The minutes from Aug. 11 meeting were read and a motion was made by Carlton Manning and seconded by Carolyn Tyson to approve as read. They were approved by the membership. The treasurer’s report was read by Harold Tyson.

A motion was made by Jeff Edwards and seconded by Carolyn Tyson to table until next month to decide what our fundraiser will be in 2016.

A motion was made by Phyllis Weatherington and seconded by Carolyn Tyson to buy two bicycles and two helmets for Toys For Tots again this year.  The motion was passed.

The nominating committee for officers are to report in October the selection of officers for the year of 2016.

With no other business a motion was made to adjourn. We said the Pledge of Allegiance, and we were dismissed at 8:30 p.m. by Ruby Manning.
