East Carolina Aquatics holds instrasquad meet

GREENVILLE — More than 140 swimmers from East Carolina Aquatics participated in an intrasquad meet at East Carolina University’s Minges Natatorium on Oct. 3. Novice to veteran swimmers age 5 to 45 from across eastern North Carolina competed against each other and the clock at home.

Event winners were Kevin Andrews of Washington, Maddie Baiotto of Swansboro, Eleanor Blount of Greenville, Riley Brown of Greenville, Abigail Burns of Greenville, Stephen Castillo of Havelock, Zach Compton of Lucama, Brooke Despres of Winterville, Garrett Despres of Winterville, Morgan Despres of Winterville, Webb Evans of Greenville, Avery Hastings of Greenville, Ava Lajoie of Winterville, Patrick Lovenberg of Chocowinity, Luke McCarthy of Winterville, JD McCray of Cape Carteret, Grant Meadows of Swansboro, Wayland Mitchell of Washington, Tristan Pake of Washington, Cary Pou of Greenville, Lyndsey Reeve of Emerald Isle, James Reindl of Cape Carteret, Bethany Tart of Winterville, Svea Torres of Greenville and Benji Woodward of Greenville.

The Gators will be back in action Nov. 6-8 at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary before hosting their friendly rival, the Waves of Wilmington, in a dual meet Nov. 21-22 in Greenville.

East Carolina Aquatics is a year-round swim team for youth and adults ages 4 and up with more than 400 swimmers at practice sites in Greenville, Morehead City, Cape Carteret, Washington and Roanoke Rapids. For more information, visit www.swimeca.org.
